A team from the MOOC-Maker project was invited to participate in a special session dedicated to Open Education (OERs and MOOCs) at the EADTU Online, Open and Flexible Higher Education Conference held in Rome, Italy, from 19 to 21 October, 2016. The event was hosted by Università Telematica Internazionale Uninettuno in collaboration with the Pontificia Università Antonianum and focused on the theme «Enhancing European Higher Education: opportunities and impact of new modes of teaching». Over 200 researchers attended, coming from Europe and other regions of the world.
The MOOC-Maker presentation, entitled «Widening access to scalable digital education: the contribution of MOOC-Maker», was presented by Professor Maria do Carmo Teixeira Pinto, from Universidade Aberta, which authored it together with Professors António Teixeira, also from Universidade Aberta, Carlos Delgado Kloos, coordinator of the project, and Carlos Alario, both from University Carlos III in Madrid.
The presentation highlighted the aims and outputs of the MOOC-Maker project, and shared some of the first results of the ongoing research, generating much interest from the conference participants.
